Your First Martial Arts Lesson

It was a serious question: who showed you how to walk?

Did anybody ever *teach* you how to walk?

Something as simple, yet complex as walking as the first and most important martial arts lesson.

The first lesson of the dojo.

Stand relaxed and with good posture, and just start walking at a comfortable pace.

Are your feet moving in alignment?

Feet pointing in the direction that you are walking, in-line with the knees and hips.

No stepping past your toes, your spine, shoulders, and head in alignment.

Moving in balance?

Something as simple as walking, reaming in balance, with distance and timing, is the power behind every martial arts technique.

The first lesson in the martial arts it to correct your walking.

Located in Westchester New York, the Bujinkan Shinmyoken Dojo is martial arts training group founded in 2006 with the aim of coming together as martial arts friends to study the Japanese martial art of Masaaki Hatsumi through the lessons of the Bujinkan dojo.

As friends (buyu) we come together to grow, learn, and share our individual potential in this wonderful martial art.
