Martial Arts Stretching

We begin our martial arts training with a brief stretching and breathing routine, specific to our taijutsu training to not only prepare the body for the lessons ahead, but also to build flexibility and economy of movement as we progress in the art.

Junan taiso- martial arts stretching begins with the head and neck, moving to the shoulders & arms, lower back, hips, legs, knees, and ankles.

Working on rotating each joint clockwise and counter clockwise to limber up and get the blood flowing.

Stretching as a way to warm up and cool down after each class, but also as a way to promote fluid movement free of tension, leading to flow.

Located in Westchester New York, the Bujinkan Shinmyoken Dojo is a martial arts training group founded in 2005 with the aim of coming together as martial arts friends to study the Japanese martial art of Masaaki Hatsumi through the lessons of the Bujinkan dojo.

As friends (buyu) we come together to grow, learn, and share our individual potential in this wonderful martial art.

Questions, comments, feedback, and inquiries may be emailed to the group here:
