They only work if you have correct body alignment to deliver the technique- waza in the Japanese martial arts.

There is another side in understanding correct body alignment and why it is important in the martial arts. Even if you think you can brute-force a technique, make it all about raw strength and speed- what about balance?

Move out of alignment, and discover how fast your balance can be taken, without even being aware of it. Taking balance is the KEY to applying martial arts techniques, moving out of alignment will allow your training partner to capture you just like that.
