Martial Arts Body Alignment

Martial Arts Body Alignment

Your first class in the martial arts, ready for that literal first step.

Your first lesson?

How to walk and move the body in alignment.

Moving both the upper and lower body at the same time.

Walking and moving in alignment with your joints.

Is that the martial arts?

Where are the punches, kicks, and locks?

They only work if you have correct body alignment to deliver the technique- waza in the Japanese martial arts.

There is another side in understanding correct body alignment and why it is important in the martial arts. Even if you think you can brute-force a technique, make it all about raw strength and speed- what about balance?

Move out of alignment, and discover how fast your balance can be taken, without even being aware of it. Taking balance is the KEY to applying martial arts techniques, moving out of alignment will allow your training partner to capture you just like that.

See you on the mat!

As friends (buyu) we come together to grow, learn, and share our individual potential in this wonderful martial art.
