Nintai- perseverance in spirit and movement in the martial arts.

In one of our training drills, using ukemi taihenjutsu muto dori, a training partner will attack multiple times with a sword- in this case a shinai or training sword.

In receiving the attack, all you can do is get out of the way.

You are not allowed to take the sword, strike back, or use any kind of waza.

They are going to be coming at you fill speed…

…and you can’t run away.

In this drill you will get hit, accepting that, you do your best not to get hit, using ukemi taihenjutsu as best you can.

Some attacks you will evade, others you will not.

The point of the training drill.

To develop, cultivate, and present nintai.

Can you keep moving no matter the odds?

Can you keep going?

Ninpo Ikkan.

Located in Westchester New York, the Bujinkan Shinmyoken Dojo is a martial arts training group founded in 2005 with the aim of coming together as martial arts friends to study the Japanese martial art of Masaaki Hatsumi through the lessons of the Bujinkan dojo.

As friends (buyu) we come together to grow, learn, and share our individual potential in this wonderful martial art.

Questions, comments, feedback, and inquiries may be emailed to the group here:
