Edda Koppo Stick

One of the training tools that we explore in our movement is the edo koppo or koppo stick. A small hand held piece of wood, shaped like a dowel that fits in your hand. Just what can you do with a pocket stick?

The “ken” part of the Hoken Juroppo takes on a new meaning, new application. Kyushou that were closed are now open, ways of manipulating those same kyusho change, which means through kamae (body postures) there are opportunities for kyojitsu.

Eda koppo is not just about poking or bashing away, there is a method and flow regarding how to use it.

In the mean-time?

Explore taihenjutsu and the kyu kamae and how that would change if you are holding an edda koppo stick.
