Practicing hicho no kamae in class today.
Going from shizen to hicho, holding it for a few, back to shizen.
Going from shizen to hicho, hicho to hicho no kata.
Training and moving around in the park, different compared to the flat surface of a training hall or gym.
In that moment of shifting to hicho, feeling the balance, perhaps being a bit off.
Spending a second to adjust and catch balance, but working on the skill of ukemi to know that if one can’t catch the balance, it is OK to put the leg down, readjust and shift back to hicho no kamae.
Feeling with the body when you can catch balance, and when you can not.
Knowing when to take ukemi.
