What time does class start?
10 AM or a little before it?
A chance to warm up with some junan taiso (martial arts stretches) vs. going into class quick and cold.
We start with the ankles, seated and rotating them, followed by the knees and hips. Working on rotation and limbering up, getting the blood flowing to the lower areas.
Standing up, stretching the spine, shoulders, elbows, wrists, and neck.
Going SLOWLY with the neck, paying extra attention to the shoulders since they are the pivot points for many of the locks we study.
Natural, but deep breathing all the way.
Finishing with some self massage on the legs and body to promote blood circulation.
NOW, we are ready for class.
