In this martial arts training drill, we start off by applying a waza- perhaps jodan uke or omote gyaku. As we apply the technique, slowly, our training partner reaches out with a free arm and tries to punch or grab us.
Are they able to do this?
Once is able to resist a martial arts technique if balance was not taken by a training partner.
Likewise, one is able to counter a martial arts technique if the distance is off for uke.
