In our training we often hear the term goshinjutsu translated as self-defense, which conjures images of effective street fighting and practical martial arts techniques.
Quick and direct to the point.
But perhaps goshinjutsu is a bit more in depth?
Martial arts techniques that get the self defense label should be able to work regardless of the size, speed, and strength of your training partner, while at the same time they should also work regardless of your size, speed, and strength.
Physical skills that should not rely on physical attributes = goshinjutsu.
So how does one go about the goshinjutsu mindset?
By developing the skills of distance, timing, balance, and rhythm.
Martial arts skills that negate physical attributes and are not dependent on them.
