How many techniques in our budo taijutsu?
How should one approach martial arts techniques, how is our taijutsu approach different?
Taking the arm, extending it out, taking it across the shoulder, and throwing over. We often see this done from a lapel grab, but this is *not* what one does if grabbed in this way.
We don’t view techniques as done against specific attacks, but rather methods of movement.
Asking what happens when you move the body a certain way, taking the arm across the shoulder, how does it shut down the movement of the person.
What happens to the balance, distance, timing, and rhythm of the person when the arm is that way?
Viewing techniques not as a defense against a specific certain attack, but rather from the perspective of movement.
