Bujinkan Shinmyōken Dōjō
Classical Japanese Martial Arts
Westchester, New York
The Bujinkan Shinmyōken Dōjō is dedicated to the study and transmission of Japanese budō as taught by Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi, Sōke of the Bujinkan Dōjō.
Established in 2005, the dōjō maintains a traditional approach to training, emphasizing correct movement, classical kata, weapons, and the cultivation of awareness, balance, and natural body mechanics.
Training is conducted outdoors, reflecting the historical roots of the art and allowing students to develop skill in a natural environment.
Dōjō-chō: Fred Feddeck (Shidōshi)
Instruction follows the classical curriculum of the Bujinkan, including:
Taijutsu — natural body movement, striking, grappling, and balance breaking.
Kihon — foundational principles of posture, distancing, and timing.
Kata — formal patterns preserving the teachings of the ryūha.
Ukemi — safe falling, rolling, and environmental awareness.
Weapons — rokushaku bo, hanbo, katana, yari, naginata and other historical training tools.
Training is quiet, disciplined, and sincere.
There is no competition.
